our story

There has been a restaurant at this location for over ten years, but we have only been operating the Fly Creek Café since December 2008. We came in and cleaned house, literally. We moved some doors, put up some wood and metal, ran two power-washers to death, painted, scrubbed, restocked, repaired, replaced, rewired and reopened. Then we made all the mistakes you can make, and we learned very quickly how to do and how not to do.

Now the snappy little restaurant in the marina is really cooking. The ingredients are top notch, the employees are friendly and the view is constantly changing. We have great music on the house system every day and we have some of the best local talent playing live every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Plus, we host the most spectacular sunsets every evening.

If you’ve already discovered us, thanks for your business. If you haven’t been in yet, be sure to arrive hungry. We will do our best to show you why we are so proud of our little slice of heaven, The Fly Creek Café.

Spend the day in the fieldswith farmers, feeding and caretaking the livestock. After ahot day in the pasture, pick out your own cow, and the farm crew will happily prepare your meat. Then plop that beef on the grill…all for about $2,300.00 (you’ve gotta buy a new freezer for all that meat). Or you can enjoy an Up the Creek Burger cooked and served to your satisfaction for 11.99 and save yourself a cool $2,288.00.

      When cows live in their natural habitat (open fields) they are healthier. They are able to move around freely, meet new friends, take naps & grow up enjoying life. Actually much like us humans, they don’t do as well with fast food & confinement. In fact, when they grow up eating fast food (corn feedlot), they eat too much fat, grow too quickly, don’t exercise & are prone to more sickness which means more drug dosages (sounds a lot like raising kids).
